The Truth About Global Warming

David Attenborough on climate change. It’s quite brief (less than fifteen minutes), but for some reason, the person who uploaded it thought it necessary to divide it into three parts.
It’s nothing new. Just a few basic facts repeated for people who can’t be bothered to pay attention. Everything sounds more credible in a British accent.

    Neat.
I preferred the accent of the nerdy graph-scientist’s at the end, though.

There’s just one question that they left unanswered. If we manage to somehow drastically reduce CO2 emissions and whatever else is causing the changes within the next, say, ten years, will we still be on time? And will this really make such a big difference or was NY going to end up underwater according to natural cycles anyway?
I’m not saying this to justify pollution or general laziness, but if we’re going to drown or wash away anyway, it might be a better idea to put our efforts into moving everything up a big hill instead.

If there’s a neat British video that answers these questions, I’d like to see it :3

Part of the problem is that nobody knows if it’s reversible, but it’s a good idea to not by ocean-front property even if CO2 emmissions are drastically reduced soon.

Not reducing them, though, is bound to make things worse.
We’re 50 meters above sea level, so I would guess we’re safe for a while. If nothing is done about the matter, though, I would guess that we won’t be for very long.

And the problem with moving stuff up hills is places like India and Bangladesh as well. Some of the most populous areas on the planet are right at sea level, and these people don’t tend to have the ability to move themselves out of harm’s way, even assuming they get advance warnings.

(BTW, this video is cute too.)
