Obviously you could make a similar video for every single person running for president in ‘08, and people should. The American political system is rotten, and people like John McCain are both the symptom and the cause.

After countless videos, articles and statistics, I’m still shocked at all the people applauding this dickwad when he said gay marriage should not be legal. I guess it’s reassuring to hear that a few people still dared to boo him, at least until the clapping masses drowned them out.
I’d like to believe that a politician saying a thing like this on a talk show in Belgium would be committing political suicide, but sadly the far right party, Vlaams Belang, seems be gaining influence all the time, so I’m no longer so sure.
Honestly, the day intolerance and narrow-mindedness gets taken for granted here too, I’m going to seriously consider moving out. Let’s just hope there’ll still be a place to run to by then.
