Holocaust denial makes a come-back
Teachers drop the Holocaust to avoid offending Muslims
Schools are dropping the Holocaust from history lessons to avoid offending Muslim pupils, a Governmentbacked study has revealed.
It found some teachers are reluctant to cover the atrocity for fear of upsetting students whose beliefs include Holocaust denial.
There is also resistance to tackling the 11th century Crusades - where Christians fought Muslim armies for control of Jerusalem - because lessons often contradict what is taught in local mosques.
The Daily Mail, that bastion of unbiased journalism (they’re a goddamn tabloid, people, and when they try to talk about important things, they’re like Britain’s Fox), is trying to paint this as political correctness gone insane, but the truth seems to be more along the lines of teachers fearing physical violence.
Still, subverting truth for the sake of religious sensibilities is always retarded. But I guess it only merits outrage when it’s Muslims doing it.
(Via Pharyngula, though I’d heard about this before.)
