Anyway

I spent most of the past week reading and not actually going to any of my classes except for half a Java class (because I was bored) and one Besturingssystemen/Netwerken one (because I was curious; so far, that class has been about networks, and today we started on OSes).

I finished The Elegant Universe, Innumeracy, The Double Helix, The Naked Ape, and Breaking the Spell. Reviews coming eventually, maybe possibly.
I also bought this and this and this and this and this and this and this and probably some other things as well. I’m still not broke, but the rest of my monies will go towards a boxed set of Feynman’s Lectures on Physics the Acco has, but that’s too heavy for me to actually carry home, so that’ll have to wait.

Java pleasantly surprised me by having a matches method in the String class, which accepts regexes with little to no hassle. Both less pleasant and less surprising was the fact our Java teacher doesn’t have a clue how regexes work, which led him to dismiss the one exercise I actually bothered to show him.
The Besturingssystemen class was slightly less retarded. I know more about various operating systems than the rest of the class combined, so most of it was just inside jokes about Unix between me and teacher person while the rest pretended to understand.

I’m also not actually feeling better, but nobody wants to hear about that anymore.
More panda.
