Numbers vary wildly, though, and you're right, I was probably a bit too cavalier when I said "most".

My point stands either way, though: miscarriage is a powerful selective force.</description>

		<description>just a quick google search gives a general "consensus" that 25% of pregnancies end in miscarriage, not most.  now that would be something to provide a footnote for :)</description>
