So tell me…
Why did some admittedly unjust taxation merit an armed rebellion, while genocide and obliteration of the rule of law doesn’t even merit impeachment?
Celebrating Washington’s accomplishments while pissing on his memory at the same time strikes me as somewhat distasteful.

Well, the whole “taxation without representation thing” was a problem - more so than the enormity.
I’m pretending that American Independence Day does not exist. I celebrated Canada Day instead.

And yeah, representation was the only real outrage. Though it’s not like America gives a seat in Congress to Puerto Rico. (Admittedly, they probably pay less federal taxes than the colonies did.)
