    Pico, or its new clone nano, are my personal favorites, and I go for vi when that’s not available.

    I suck at emacs, don’t even know what Eclipse and Textmate are, and would be kind of crippled if I was forced to use cat.

    And to hell with Ed. Yargh.

    However, I do note a real variety in opinion with the readership, which is probably a good thing.

    Notepad++, because I’m lazy as sin and use Windows. I finally bound CapsLk to Esc, though, so maybe I’ll try to get my *nix vim setup working on my home computer.

    vim because I started programming with a PuTTY terminal into a unix box (and no X on my machine).
