I’m Cairnarvon, also known as Koen Crolla. Hallo.
I was born in Tienen, Belgium in 1985. Lived in Brussels for a few years, then moved back to Tienen. I like Tienen. Brussels, not so much. Also lived in Ghent for six months, I guess. Compared to Ghent, my love for Brussels outshines the sun.
I’ve been to France, the Netherlands, Germany, the UK, Spain, Italy, and Morroco. I don’t particularly like travelling, though Italy and the UK were fun.
I’m an atheist. I’m antitheist, even. I don’t care that much if you’re religious, but don’t expect me to respect beliefs just because they happen to be dearly held.
I’m a social democrat, and I don’t disagree with a fair number of liberal ideas. I tend to vote (and am a member of) SP.a, though I have had significant disagreements with the policies of some of their members in the past. They’re still the least crap party we have, though VLD is a close second.
I’m pro-choice, pro-environment, pro-gun-control, and anti-capital-punishment. I don’t see why gays shouldn’t have the same rights as heterosexuals, including the right to marry. It makes me happy Belgium is mostly a civilised country. I like the idea behind the UN, though I don’t particularly think the UN is doing anything resembling a good job. I dislike anti-intellectualism, and the war on science going on (mostly, though by no means exclusively) in the US.
I speak two languages fluently, and three or four more adequately. I can make sense of about a dozen more.
I’m a “college” student at the Katholieke Hogeschool Leuven, majoring in Applied Computer Science. I used to be a Japanology student at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, which is an altogether more impressive place to study at. I intend to get my Master’s in Computer Science there eventually.

About this Blog
This blog uses the WordPress blogging software (self-hosted). The theme is my own creation, though the /prog/snake was blatantly stolen.
